North Little Rock: Represent!

By Chris

We’re excited to hear back from a couple restaurants north of the river. We’ve been to both places, sans Roxanne, and can attest to the quality of the food and beverage. It looks like after tomorrow and Wednesday, we’ll finally be on the upswing and can start enjoying the many patios in Central Arkansas that love well-behaved pups. We’ll be writing individual reviews within the next couple of weeks, so keep an eye out.

Oh, we also went to Fayetteville this weekend and will be starting a sister site for Northwest Arkansas dog owners. Watch for Dog Friendly Fayetteville, coming soon to a computer monitor near you!

CregeensCregeen’s Irish Pub, on the corner of Main Street and Broadway in the funky, up-and-coming Argenta Arts District of downtown North Little Rock has a menu chock full of traditional Irish grub, as well as a great selection of American fare (burgers, chicken tenders, etc.). Do yourself a favor and try their Clam Chowder. Seriously, it’s some of the best I’ve had outside of New England.

With nearly 30 beers on tap and 70 bottled varieties, you have to think Cregeen’s is doing something right since they were listed in Irish Beer Finder’s top 10 list! Join them on the patio with your pup and have a brew or three.

Starving ArtistStarving Artist Café can also be found in the Argenta Arts District (sensing a small trend here?). We haven’t yet visited the patio, but we’ve been for dinner and their “Tales from the South” productions a couple times. Serving a solid selection of salads, sandwiches and delicious entreés (the daily specials have always been fantastic), Starving Artist Café provides fabulous service in a really cool atmosphere. They also have a full bar and a solid wine list. Be sure to take a peek inside at all of the local art that’s available for sale and maybe buy a piece.

The restaurant has a separate patio entrance for dogs who bring their humans.
